Leïla Shahid, ancienne Représentante de l’Autorité Palestinenne en France et en Europe, remonte le temps pour faire partager les souvenirs que sa mère, Sirine Husseini Shahid, lui a transmis avant d’en faire un livre : Souvenirs de Jérusalem. En s’appuyant sur de très riches archives, l’histoire de cette grande famille engagée dans le mouvement national palestinien témoigne en même temps de l’histoire collective de tout un peuple depuis près d’un siècle.

FSL participated in the coordination and good practice exchange meeting in Ljubljana as part of the AMIF project Empowering Migrants’ Voices EMVL-II.
The meeting brought together dedicated partners from across Europe to share tools, challenges, and strategies for promoting migrant participation, representation, and empowerment. Through open dialogue and practical workshops, we deepened our understanding of how to strengthen migrant voices in local and national contexts.
A big thank you to our hosts in Ljubljana and the Municipality for their warm welcome and excellent organization. Events like these remind us how important transnational cooperation is for building inclusive, democratic societies.
Youth Work Synergy Affordable Housing – Mental Wellness
Last week, our YWS team organized a special workshop for the residents of one of our houses in Assel! 🏡
The goal was simple – to create an open space where young people can better understand the rules of shared living, learn how to communicate effectively 🗣️, and find ways to make their home even more welcoming and comfortable.
We’re also happy to mention that our young trainee educator, Jose Bryan, helped facilitate the workshop, bringing fresh ideas and valuable support to the session 👏. We’re proud to support the next generation of youth workers! 🌱

The Hate-less LAG Meetings brought together passionate voices to evaluate the effectiveness of media literacy and hate speech prevention initiatives in Luxembourg. The discussion focused on identifying successful programs, recognizing their shortcomings, and exploring ways to strengthen critical thinking in youth work. Participants emphasized the crucial role of media literacy in promoting European values such as democracy and human rights while also addressing the challenges of fostering these values among young people.

En août, nous avons signé un accord pour une nouvelle maison à Limpertsberg, et dès septembre, de jeunes résidents s’y sont installés ! 🎉
Depuis six mois, de jeunes locataires vivent dans cette belle maison, bénéficiant d’un emplacement idéal et d’un loyer abordable. Nous veillons à maintenir le logement en excellent état grâce à un entretien régulier et un suivi attentif. Des petites réparations à l’entretien général, nous nous assurons que l’espace reste confortable et bien entretenu pour ceux qui y vivent.

Over the first two days of our ongoing SecureScreen project, participants dove into an exciting journey of learning and collaboration! The agenda included introductions, engaging activities, and insightful sessions on media literacy, digital citizenship, media hunt, and media recycling—all designed to sharpen their understanding of digital world.
We also fostered connections and teamwork through interactive simulations and team-building exercises.
The project “Secure Screen” is organized by the Formation et Sensibilisation Luxembourg and financed by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission – Luxembourgish National Agency Anefore.

In 2024 FSLuxembourg had the honor of starting a new Erasmus+ KA220-VET project in vocational education and training with its international partners:
– Grupa CDG (Applicant, Poland),
– Grupo Geseme (Spain),
– Tech-Park Kaunas (Lithuania).
The project PositiveWorkplace aims to counteract professional burnout by equipping IT managers with professional qualifications in the field of creating friendly working conditions, i.e. implementing a vocational education and training program and raising awareness of the managers on the need to implement the activities fighting burnout in the workplace.
The first residential transnational partners meeting of the project took place on September 24-25, 2024 in Luxembourg, Esch-sur-Alzette where the partners finalized all the practical questions regarding the implementations of the workpackages of the PositiveWorkplace.

On July 27th, Shapers, mentors, partners, and friends of ALDIC gathered to celebrate the success of the second ShapeUp group and share the joy and excitement with our young leaders. It was a day filled with fun, smiles, and words of appreciation.

“From the beginning of spring each year, De Jugendrot offers a thematic rally through the city of Luxembourg. Your chance to not only explore our beautiful city, but also to discover a different theme each year.
The idea of organising a Citizens’ Rally came from the Youth Convention “Equal opportunities for all young people – now!” » during which a group of young people expressed the need to complete and make civic and citizenship training more interesting.

Living Library 2024 event in Esch-sur-Alzette took place on March 27 and was titled “Human Rights: Women’s Voices”. The visitors (readers) had a chance to listen to the stories of the women (books) living in Luxembourg. The books were volunteers who themselves have experienced discrimination or who represent the groups at risk of experiencing stereotypes, stigma, prejudice or discrimination within society.
The Living Library in Esch-sur-Alzette was co-organized by the Municipality of Esch-sur-Alzette, Formation et Sensibilasion Luxembourg, ACAT Luxembourg and Musée National de la Résistance et des Droits Humains.

This Saturday, participants in the #BeMyVoice creative workshop had the chance to artistically reenact letters and stories from people around the Mediterranean, mainly from #Palestine and #Turkey.

The last ShapeUp 1st group meeting was held on 23rd March.
The meeting was productive and very enriching as the participants finalized their ikigai, worked on their values and received explanations from the trainers about each value, and they had the chance to look on the other side of their opportunities and challenges in life.
